Alison Turnbull
Joins the expedition for week 2
Born in Bogotá, Colombia Alison Turnbull lives and works in London. Her exhibitions include Houses into Flats (Milton Keynes Gallery; Cube, Manchester; Modern Art Oxford 2000/2001) Hospital (Matt’s Gallery, London 2003), World in a Chamber (University of Oxford, 2005), Dar- win’s Canopy (Natural History Museum, London 2008), Observatory (Matt’s Gallery, London 2010) and Rupert Ackroyd/Alison Turnbull (The Russian Club, London 2011).
In 2009 Alison went to the Galápagos Islands as part of the Gulbenkian Artist’s Programme, followed by research in the Department of Ento- mology at the Natural History Museum. In May/June of this year she will have a Visual Arts Residency at Cove Park, Scotland and in 2012 a solo exhibition at Talbot Rice Gallery in Edinburgh. Alison Turnbull is represented by Matt’s Gallery, London.
