Taigh Chearsabhagh Trust
Taigh Chearsabhagh Trust is a Social Enterprise Company with charitable trust status and Foundation funded by Creative Scotland (National Arts Funder) and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar (Local Government), Taigh Chearsabhagh aims to make a significant contribution to environmental arts both nationally and internationally.
Taigh Chearsabhagh Museum & Arts Centre, based on the Isle of North Uist in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland, aims to build physical and virtual focal points for exploration, innovation, communication and collaboration, locally and internationally. The unique landscape of the Uists provides the context within which we are able to offer a very special creative programme. Through residencies, research, commissions, events and public programmes, Taigh Chearsabhagh will provide unique opportunities for thought, creativity and interaction, creating a Centre of Excellence in Environmental Art.
In the Outer Hebrides, more than most communities, we are dependant on our unique environment. Our environmental focus aims to explore the boundaries of art, culture and environment. We will develop themed exhibition programmes featuring a balance of the highest quality in Scottish and international contemporary art and island-based artists and crafts producers.
