The Crew

The expedition crew of 40 includes island artists, storytellers, film makers, playwrights, architects, designers, musicians, community leaders, social scientists, ecologists, marine biologists, oceanographers, poets, acclaimed Gaelic singers and a chef.

Emily Venables

Joins the expedition for week 3

Emily Venables is an Oceanographer from SAMS who joined us on both the 2007 and 2008 Arctic voyages whilst doing her PhD on mixing and heat exchange between Arctic and Atlantic waters. Now continuing to work at SAMS (because it will take a lot to extract her from the west coast of Scotland), she continues to study the impacts of physical processes on the oceanic environment. In her spare time she loves to explore both above and below the local waters -sailing, diving and climbing mountains.
