Andy Crabb

Andy Crabb is a film and image-maker with more than 20 years experience. His work has included directing and editing a wide range of work from fiction to music videos and large screen backdrop projections to short documentaries and community and disabled arts productions.
Born on the East Coast of Scotland, Andy graduated from Film School in Kent in 1990, and subsequently worked for Derek Jarman’s production company. In 1993 Andy’s short film “The Wanderer” won best short film at Turin Film festival. In 1994 Andy edited Jarman’s final Film “Glitterbug”. Since that time he has undergone an ongoing love-hate in/out relationship with the absurd world of filmmaking across 2+ decades, in the process working with artists such as Billy Childish, Genesis P.Orridge and Suede as well as remote island communities, schools and assorted community arts organisations.
In 2004 Andy moved with his family to a small Hebridean island, but is now back on the mainland based near Oban. Andy is currently filmmaker in residence at The Scottish Association for Marine Science, as well as working across Argyll for Alzheimer Scotland, and in his spare time endeavouring to not take things too seriously.
