Joins the expedition for week 1 and 2
My first science job after a Masters in Fisheries Science was a posting in the Antarctic. This set a fairly high benchmark for interest and challenge levels at work, so having returned to the UK to work in fisheries for the Scottish Government it was not long before I needed to broaden my horizons again. I took up the challenge of studying for a doctorate – also looking at human impacts, although these days my research is concerned with pollution and what happens to ecosystems in the event of a huge oil spill. I generally try and think outside the box, but appreciate being able to use science to try to answer my questions.
