Deirdre Nelson

Joins the expedition for week 2 and 3

Deirdre Nelson is an artist working mainly in textiles. Her nomadic nature and interest in communities have allowed her to develop work for exhibition and on residencies both in the UK and Australia. Research, humour and craft technique allow her to deal with relevant social and environmental issues whilst engaging communities in the process. She is currently one of the artists in residence on the Sexy Peat/Tìr mo Rùin Project with Highland Print Studio/Cape Farewell and created the Bird Yarns project for Sea Change in 2012.

Pelagic Gannets
